Work For a Better Future
Last year on 9/11, I understood that it was good to remember those who aren't with us anymore - including those lost in the terrorist attacks. But, I felt that people were not focusing their feelings in a constructive way.
Our nation has been so focused on remembering what was done to us, and how we can forcibly keep others from hurting us, that we seem to have forgotten to be proactive in making our future better.
We've been working so hard to defend ourselves, to not forget and not forgive, that we don't work on improving the lives of all of us on this planet.
And I thought of a short song that ran on a South Park episode (Season 8, Episode 6, "Goobacks"), about working today for a better tomorrow.
I felt that that was much more constructive than feeling angry about our terrorism victims.
And of all things, this silly song from South Park moved me on the 9/11 anniversary.
Too bad, that in the episode, the denizens of South Park decided that there were drawbacks to improving the community, and went back to the destruction of society.
