Brahms German Requiem, especially the "Ich will euch trosten" movement; also, Thomas Morley's short set of beautiful & sensitive madrigals, "Service for the Burial of the Dead."

Sang the Morley when President Kennedy was killed, and we all had tears streaming down our faces while performing them. (Very moving!) Likewise with the Brahms, an ultra-beautiful and very consoling masterpiece that touches the soul, which I sang in an ad-hoc memorial concert on the 1st anniversary of 9/11.
