Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis by Ralph Vaughan Williams

I've always enjoyed this particular piece however in recent years, it has struck a chord with me personally. My first impression was its usage in Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. In particular there are 2 scenes where the crew of the HMS Surprise has to painfully say goodbye to lost crew members, being the man overboard and role call of the dead scenes. The role call scene is fitting as Captain Aubrey recants remembering his lost crewmates. I recently had a house fire and lost 5 cats. As Aubrey mentioned never forgetting your mates, I will never forget my lost pets. And we should never forget our losses of 9/11.
